The story of me, or something like that anyways...
Let's be brutally honest here, writing a bio about yourself is weird as hell, right? I'm awkward as f*ck y'all. Like a decent awkward though. The kind of awkward that's like definitely getting in the drive-thru instead of walking inside to order and occasionally trip over my own shadow (or the time I fell backwards into a wall slow-motion style at my first ever boudoir shoot lol)-- that's me.
Oh shit, my bad. I'm Cate by the way! I'm the photographer behind Wild With Red Boudoir. I absolutely fell in love with boudoir and how it makes people feel about themselves and their body. As someone who has struggled with body-images issues for a majority of my life (#thankyousociety), learning to love myself and the body I came with and have grown with over this lifetime was something I highly struggled with, and honestly somedays still do. For years, and I mean years even before I started my photography business, I used to prop my phone up on whatever I could get it to lean against without falling over and take self-timer photos of quite literally my ass. For a while, my butt was the only thing about my body that I actually *liked* so I embraced it. Eventually I started getting more comfortable in my own skin with the rest of my body and realized I have a pretty bangin' bod. I started studying boudoir photographers whose work I admired but quickly realized that even with boudoir societal standards still seem to leak through and that made me honestly kinda pissed off. I set out to make it a point in my business to be inclusive to all body types, shapes, and sizes, and make all that step in front of my camera feel like a damn queen. I want you to see yourself how *I* see you- as someone who is strong, as someone who has created life, as someone who has been through battles physical, emotional, or mental, as someone who has been pressured by society, as someone who has overcome trauma and/or abuse, as someone who is fiiiiiine af, as someone you're happy to see, as someone you LOVE. I'm here to remind you that you ARE WORTH IT and it's not selfish to LOVE YOURSELF.
